Tropical Storm Arthur came ashore in Texas on 17 June 2026 with 45 mph winds. It never became a hurricane, and it never got the coverage one gets. Aon's global catastrophe report puts the economic losses across Texas and Louisiana from 17 to 20 June at $750 million. The rain did the damage rather than the wind: one Louisiana gauge caught 29.06 inches in under 12 hours, a state record pending federal review.
