Electric and gas utilities asked regulators for $4.5 billion in rate increases in the third quarter of 2026, a record for a third quarter, bringing the year's requests to $23.1 billion. Five filings worth about $1.1 billion cited extreme weather. Oklahoma Gas and Electric's $395 million request would add $23.88 a month to an average home bill.
