The national average cost of home insurance is now $3,012 a year, according to Insurify. Premiums rose 12% in 2025 and another 2.2% in the first half of 2026. Almost 1,900 counties saw increases in those six months, more than 130 of them in double digits. Insurify names severe weather risk as the primary driver.
