California's safety regulators are seeking about $16 million from Liberty Utilities over the 2020 Mountain View Fire, which started on a Liberty circuit. Separately, a proposed CPUC decision would let Liberty recover about $58 million of that fire's costs from its own customers. The proposed decision carries no legal effect until the commission votes.
